On December 5, 2023 The Japanese House played what they called their honorary hometown show. The now Detroit resident, Amber Bain brought on Quinnie and Detroit’s very own Ally Evenson to share the stage with her. Ally Evenson and Quinnie set the tone for the night and had the audience members cheering for them as they each played their sets. The anticipation for The Japanese House started to set in as it reached closer to the beloved musician’s set time.

It was clear that fans were overly excited to see Amber Bain perform after so long as the crowd erupted into a chorus of screams and the lights dimmed and the fog machine started rolling in to the opening notes of the first song “Sad To Breathe“, a definite fan favourite.
Amber Bain played almost every song off the new record with an ode to some of the older stuff that long time fans were grateful and excited to hear. The lyrics and musical stylings of The Japanese House is truly one that just gets better and better.
