Austin City Limits brought over 70,000 attendees each day at the two-weekend music festival located at Zilker Park.
Starting Friday, the festival filled up for Noah Cyrus’ opening 2:30 pm set. Following Cyrus’ performance, attendees were able to watch Texas native, Conan Gray, and see The Chicks debut at the festival. There was so much joy hearing The Chicks perform “Cowboy Take Me Away” and seeing fans of all ages sing along.
Saturday we checked out the vendors, food (my favorite was Blenders & Bowls) and the performances. One of my favorite moments was watching Sabrina Claudio change her set to an intimate show by sitting down for her final songs. Princess Nokia kept the crowd cool by coming out with a water gun and spoke about body positivity. The night ended with Flume and P!nk, it was crazy to hear “Never Be Like You” and see P!nk fly across the crowd.
On the final day, fans had the chance to see the iconic Paramore, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beto O’Rourke handing Kacey Musgraves a beer on stage. Paramore brought out PinkPantheress to perform “Misery Business”, Hayley Williams told her “This is your crowd for the next four minutes” and it was one of the most wholesome moments of the weekend.
One thing that makes ACL so unique is the energy of the crowd, being an all aged festival, C3 is able to cater to all sorts of music lovers. I loved walking by Red Hot Chili Peppers fans young and old, it was so special to see attendees come together to watch the band.
This was my first ACL and it did not disappoint, it had such a great blend of genres and it was beautiful to see the city in the background. I also loved that this festival focuses more on the music than outfits, it was a judgment-free zone and I could not have had a better experience.
ACL Fest will take place October 6-8 and October 13-15, 2023.
