Big Thief performed their first of two nights at the historic Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, joined by Tucker Zimmerman. The hair-raising performance was capstoned by jam-sessions, singalongs (“Sing as bad as you can,” prompted Adrianne Lenker at one point) and just the right amount of stomping.
Big Thief is supporting Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, released earlier this year. Songs like “Spud Infinity” and “Flower of Blood” have already become fan favorites. The first of two nights (and first of five shows in Southern California), several deeper cuts from the band’s discography were also featured.
On May 13, they’ll visit San Diego’s Observatory North Park, followed by two nights at the iconic Pappy and Harriet’s near Joshua Tree. Tickets to those shows can be found at bigthief.net/tour.
