Chase Atlantic brought their North American tour to Boston’s MGM Music Hall last Friday in support of their album released just the same night – LOST IN HEAVEN. Fresh off a show in Philadelphia and an arena stop at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the sold out Boston crowd was beyond ready to welcome the band for the album release night show. Chase Atlantic brings an interesting mix of r&b, electronic, rap, and alternative music to their sound that is addicting to listen to, and this night was no exception.
Following an energetic performance by 24kGoldn, best known for his song “Mood” with Iann Dior, Chase Atlantic took the stage with an explosive performance of “DIE FOR ME,” the first single off their new album released in 2024. The production was top-notch, with a towering three-tiered platform lined with screens taking up nearly the entire stage. Co-lead singer Mitchel Cave spent almost no time standing still throughout the performance, running back and forth and up and down the grand setup. For their next two songs we traveled back to 2016 and 2017 for “Slow Down” and “Consume” before making our way back to the current decade with “RICOCHET.”
Highlights from the middle of the show included “OHMAMI” and “HEAVEN AND BACK,” as well as the freshly released “FAVELA,” which was easily one of the strongest performances of the night despite fans not being very familiar with the song yet. “BEAUTY IN DEATH” was the only song that made the cut from the album bearing the same name, which was a tad disappointing, though many of the newer songs made up for it. During “YOU,” Mitchel Cave jumped down to the barricade to interact with fans on the front row – some of whom had been waiting since 9am for their prime spot to see the band. Guitarist Clinton Cave also took this time to show off an impressive saxophone solo. Chase Atlantic closed the main set with “Swim” and returned for a single song encore with “Friends” before exiting the stage for the night.
The North American leg of Chase Atlantic’s current tour is about halfway over, but they still have stops in Canada, the midwest, and the west coast later this month. They’ll also be heading home in December to play some shows in Australia and New Zealand. If you’re looking for some unique music and great production value, we highly recommend checking them out! You can find tickets and more information on their website.
